Organisation Terms
These terms are an agreement between your organisation and Holit Ltd, which runs Theorise ("we", "us") — registered address: 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. They apply when your organisation buys Theorise places. The person who buys confirms they may do so for the organisation and are 18 or over. Each person who joins with your code also agrees to our Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
What you buy
You buy a licence for a number of places, for one year at a time. Each place gives one person Theorise+ for as long as the licence lasts. People take a place by typing your organisation's join code in the app.
You choose the skills your people practise: money, life skills, or both. For colleges and sixth forms, the AI coach is switched off.
Who can join
- Everyone who joins must be 16 or over. People aged 16 and 17 get extra protections in the app.
- Each person uses their own Theorise account. One account takes one place.
- When every place is taken, nobody new can join until you add places.
What you see, and what you don’t
You see how many places are used and when they were taken. You never see anyone's name, answers or scores, and we never give your organisation the personal data of the people who join. Each of them holds their own account with us, and we are responsible for that data under our Privacy Policy.
To buy, you sign in to Theorise. We keep your sign-in, your organisation's name, kind, country and website, your job title if you give it, and any purchase-order number. Stripe processes payments and keeps the billing details; we never see card numbers. We keep billing records for as long as the law requires for accounting. If your organisation needs a written data agreement, write to us at [email protected].
Prices and payment
- Price. The price is per place, per year, and depends on how many places you buy. You buy at least 5. You see the price before you pay, in pounds, US dollars or naira, depending on your organisation's country.
- Where you can buy online. Organisations in the United Kingdom, the United States and Nigeria can buy online when the organisations page offers it. Until then, or anywhere else, write to us.
- By card. Up to 500 places, you can pay by card at checkout. The payment is taken when you confirm it.
- By invoice. From 101 places you can ask for an invoice instead. For more than 500 places we agree the price with you. When we approve an invoice request, your licence starts straight away, and the invoice is due within the number of days shown on it.
- Tax. If VAT or sales tax applies, checkout shows it before you pay, and it appears on your invoice.
Renewal and changing places
- Renewal. Your licence renews every year on the same date, by card or with a new invoice, until you cancel. We e-mail you before it renews.
- If a renewal payment fails. We try the payment again. Your people keep Theorise+ for 14 days after the renewal date. If it's still unpaid then, the licence ends; paying later brings it back.
- An unpaid invoice. If an invoice is still unpaid 14 days after its due date, the licence ends.
- More places. You can add places at any time on the Manage page. You pay now for the rest of the year, and the new places open once that payment goes through. If the new total moves you into a different price band, every place moves to that band's price from then on.
- Fewer places. You can lower the number of places for your next renewal. Nobody is removed: if more people have joined than your new number, nobody new can join until there's room.
Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel. Open billing from the Manage page and cancel there. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your people keep Theorise+ until the end of the year you've paid for.
- Refunds. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your organisation's first payment. A full refund ends the licence that day. After those 14 days, and for renewals, we don't refund part of a year.
- Disputed payments. If a payment is disputed with your bank or card provider, we may end the licence.
Education, not financial advice
Theorise teaches general money and life skills through games and short lessons. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, for your organisation or for anyone who joins. No real money moves in the games, and figures in them are examples, simplified for teaching.
Your part
- Share your join code only with the people your places are for. You can change the code on the Manage page at any time; people who have already joined keep their place.
- Don't resell places or publish your code. We may change a code that has been shared publicly, and tell you.
- If the person who manages your organisation leaves, write to us. We check with your organisation before we move the Manage page to someone else.
Made for you
Bespoke content, game mechanics or a skill set made for your organisation are agreed separately, in writing, with their own scope and price. These terms don't promise any of them until we've both agreed.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Theorise available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable to your organisation for indirect losses, or for losses that come from financial decisions anyone makes. Our total liability to your organisation under these terms in any 12 months is limited to what your organisation paid us in those 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
When a licence ends
When a licence ends, for any reason, your people move to the free plan and keep everything they've learned. We may end a licence early if these terms are broken, and we tell you why.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
Changes and contact
When these terms change we update the date at the top. If a change matters to your organisation, we e-mail the person who manages it at least 30 days before, and the change applies from your next renewal. Questions: [email protected].
